Trip Overview

If you have only 5 days in Tibet and wish to experience more than a city tour inside Lhasa, then this holy lake hiking tour to Yamdrok Lake is very highly recommended. Not like other holy lakes very far from Lhasa, Yamdrok Lake is only 120km away southwest of Lhasa, that only takes 2 hours drive, and on the way, there are lots of stunning views too. The short drive can not only save your budget but also allows you more time to discover the site. The breathtaking holy lake is just like a turquoise jade belt inlaid on rolling Himalayas, with perennial sheer snow-capped mountain Ningjingkangsang (7191 meters) in background , looks amazingly beautiful. Hiking 2 or 3 kilometers along the lake to find the best photography point for the holy lake instead of taking a quick group photo and rush to the next stop.
