Trip Overview

The first three days acclimatizing visit in Lhasa allows you to see the iconic Potala Palace, Johkang Temple and other famous places at this holy city. Departing Lhasa, turquoise Lake Yamdrok is the first impressive place to see; while visiting the Pelchor Monastery in ancient town of Gyantse, you feel like arriving in the past with its walls and Dzong Castle in the surrounding hills. After being overwhelmed by all the awe-inspiring sights during the day you will spent the night at Shigatse and get one more day to acclimatize.

After a brief visit to the Tashilumpo Monastery on day 5, we head for the EBC. One of the most beautiful sights on the way is at the Gyalpo-la Pass where you can see Mount Everest and three other mountains over 8000 meters at one glance. At base camp, you can enjoy your highest hiking, golden sunset and starry night.

After one night at the base camp, you wake up and maybe the stunning sunrise view of Mount Everest awaits you. Then start driving toward Gyirong County by passing the beautiful turquoise Peikutso Lake. The Langtang range bordering Nepal to the south with the snowcapped Mt. Shiishapangma (8012m) on the landscape around the lake offer you stunning views to remember. Then, descend to Gyirong Town in beautiful Gyirong valley that known as the Back Yard of the Everest. The tour ends after the guide has helped you with the Chinese border formalities, before entering Nepal.
