Mount Kailash, also called Kangrinboqe, is sacred to four religions and is a place of pilgrimage for centuries. At an altitude of 6656m, Mount Kailash is shaped like a pyramid and its peak is covered with snow all year round. The holy mountain is always a mecca for pilgrims and explorers, but no one has been able to climb it.
From generation to generation, pilgrims from all directions believe that walking around the Mount Kailash can wash away a lifetime of sins. The lifelong dream of many Tibetans is to be able to finish the Kailash kora. There are also many tourists coming here to challenge this world well-known trekking route. Two routes are included: Kailash inner kora and outer kora. Here the article mainly introduces the Mount Kailash inner kora.

One day is enough for the whole Kailash inner kora that is around 25 km distance. It is said that only the Buddhists who have completed 13 rounds of outer circuits are qualified for the the Kailash inner kora. So compared with the outer loop, here are fewer people on the inner kora. But this does not apply to the normal tourist who is not Buddhist, which means you can do the inner kora directly at Mount Kailash if you are not a Buddhist.
The Kailash inner kora starts from Darchen, pass through Selung Monastery, trek along the west of Mt. Yinjietuo till the saint mountain, trace down from the east face of Mt. Yinjietuo, go back to Selong Monastery along the valley, move east towards the 5300m high pass and then reach Gyandrak Monastery. Finally, return to Darchen. Below comes the map of Kailash inner kora.
July and August are the months when Tibet sees much rains, so the paths are muddy and it can get hard to trek. The winter months from November to early March are not recommended because as the snow gets heavier and the oxygen gets thinner. So the best months to for Kailash inner kora are April , May , June , September , and October .

Hello, we are considering to travel in Tibet in summer. We are a family of 5, two adults and three kids, age 13(then), 10, 8. We are interested in the 10 days Mt. EBC & Namtso Lake Group tour. We are US citizens with valid 10-year Chinese multiple entry visa, which we have applied when we went to Beijing in 2019. We are currently living in South Korea.
1. Are kids suitable (or even allowed) for this tour?
2. If kids can join, are there any discount deals for kids?
Dear Ms. Ho***,
Greetings from Helen at Budget Tibet Tour and welcome you to join our 10 days Mt. Everest & Namtso Lake group tour. For your questions: 1. Your kids are suitable for this tour. Travelling in Tibet is as safe for kids as it is for their parents. While the high Tibetan plateau may be the highest place on the planet, very often, the kids that visit this region are more adaptable and have fewer problems than their parents. We also have arranged wonderful Tibet tours for many families with kids such as a tour to EBC for a family with a 3-year-old son, a 9-year-old girl and a 11-year-old boy, they did have fun in Tibet and there is no problem for them. Or you can take some medicine under the guidance of doctor to prevent high altitude before enter Tibet. 2. If kids travel with you, we'll offer some discount for them, please check your email and find more detailed information. Thanks & Regards
